I just wanted to stop and thank your husband for his service overseas and send a big Hoorah to you as well. I don't think the families, wives especially, get enough credit. It was a sad article, but filled with great information you don't really think about regarding National Guard going from civilian workers one day to active duty soldiers fighting a war the next and back again.Nikkinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8484957168950195936.post-69230547855077248602011-03-03T07:58:04.696-06:002011-03-03T07:58:04.696-06:00@Jamie: I too get those comments about why my husb...@Jamie: I too get those comments about why my husband's not active duty and more specifically about why he left when they are informed that he spent 3 years as active duty at Ft Hood. When that natural disaster happens, trust me, they'll want the Guard and Reserves there. My husband did 2 stints for Hurricanes Rita and Gustav, and was deployed stateside as well right before we got married too. I understand fully that frustration as well.Lorenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04452498392932035171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8484957168950195936.post-21563802994672888822011-03-02T20:11:16.635-06:002011-03-02T20:11:16.635-06:00My fiance' is a Reservist. It's completely frustrating, especially when trying to plan a wedding. We can't set a date b/c of a deployment that might happen before the date we want. Hopefully we'll find out this month when he goes to drill. I also get the questions and comments about why didn't he go active, some of which are pretty rude and hurtful.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8484957168950195936.post-56179049445715495022011-03-02T19:09:45.380-06:002011-03-02T19:09:45.380-06:00My husband was a member of the Guard before he bec...My husband was a member of the Guard before he became active.
