He wants to see everything so I am constantly juggling the digital camera and the video camera. It can get to be pretty frustrating trying to do it all at times! I know I will be ready for a break from it when he is home!To Love a Soldier...https://www.blogger.com/profile/03672150426036117704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8484957168950195936.post-20789768845531138972010-09-19T17:04:17.197-05:002010-09-19T17:04:17.197-05:00I also agree with "I have to juggle being bot...I also agree with "I have to juggle being both parents while still, very much, trying to keep "daddy" present and active in their lives". That was another very difficult thing for our deployments. I felt like I was so busy taking pictures of special events, I wasn't apart of it. I was always behind the camera and not interacting with them. Even now, I have a hard time taking pictures at school functions and sporting events because I just want to sit and enjoy. These are the days...https://www.blogger.com/profile/06647749234561177486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8484957168950195936.post-89948056169479562662010-09-19T15:29:28.890-05:002010-09-19T15:29:28.890-05:00Thank you so much for sharing, Nikki! I don't think any of us can do it without the support of fellow wives. And that is just another one of our purposes - and a major purpose - in this life!

thank you again for sharing! I would love to hear other sides to this because there are so many views and each view can help another wife feeling the same thing. To Love a Soldier...https://www.blogger.com/profile/03672150426036117704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8484957168950195936.post-88179615297181360402010-09-19T14:08:09.605-05:002010-09-19T14:08:09.605-05:00Wonderful again, Megan! I also have to admit, I resented him and the army during the years he was away and I was left with two small children.
While he was playing poker, spending hours in the gym and basically yucking it up with his buddies, I was home shuffling kids' homework, sports, doctor's appts, housework, potty training, pacifier removal (LOL!) and a little boy who just wanted his daddy and made every night a living hell physically and emotionally.
But then my husband had a strange way to cope with deployments. He cut us off. I spent countless hours at my computer hoping he would chime in. When he did, there were no loving, supportive words or even listening to our stories. I found out later, it hurt him too much to be "involved" here.
Its funny, looking back I could see him starting to open up right before R&R and when they redeployed. He slowly entering back into our world just days before returning. But man those days, months, years when he wasn't around or "involved" were the toughest days of my life. Truthfully, if it wasn't for other army wives, I would have never managed and my marriage might not have survived.
Whew! That was way more than I wanted to say. But like you said, every wife has their own angle and their own story and their own relationship with their husband. Thankfully, our relationship is much stronger now because we got through those years. These are the days...https://www.blogger.com/profile/06647749234561177486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8484957168950195936.post-69374470369698383492010-09-07T14:30:07.642-05:002010-09-07T14:30:07.642-05:00Thanks, so much, Alisha!
